How to self motivate to workout?
Exercising isn't as hard for me today as it was four months ago when I started my healthier me journey. But there are days when I really delay putting myself in the correct frame of mind and I find creative ways to procrastinate.
Today was one of those days, when I just wanted to lazy around. But I did workout - even if only at 2PM, but still - and here is what I did:
- I get out of my pyjamas or loungewear and put on the workout clothes. Even if I go sit in the couch right after, only by wearing it, the workout mindset comes crippling in
- I play some active music to feel more energetic
- I dry brush - it's best before a shower or a workout, so it also gets me in that frame of mind
- and then I listen and read out lout words of affirmation to self motivate, such as:
I am thankful for my body and all that it has allowed me to do throughout the years. It has permitted me to grow and has kept me overall healthy. I have transformed my body many times and it has never let me down. I am proud from how far I have come and eager for the journey before me. By body craves exercise and it is getting stronger and leaner every day. I am healthy to exercise and I must honour that privilege. I am my own priority. Working out is for me and my self improvement. It is a part of my routine. I have a strong disciplined mind in a strong disciplined body. I will not give up. I will keep pushing, have fun in the process and celebrate all my progress. Let's go!
